After about an hour of skimming through the shelves, I stumbled upon this used gem among the shelves on the bookstore's second floor, A History of Reading by Alberto Manguel (1996, Viking Penguin), originally priced at C$26.95 but which I got for only C$11.95. [The friendly cashier was kind enough to take a picture of me with the book.]
"For the desire to read, like all the other desires which distract our unhappy souls, is capable of analysis."—Virginia Woolf, "Sir Thomas Browne," 1923

Lei,
I'm glad you liked it, too.
I remember what Rain wrote to me, "the writer and the reader is like a man and a woman, they complete each other."
