The Modern Filipino Parents-in-Law
Photo taken on December 24, 2004, at our humble home in San Pedro, Laguna, Philippines: My fiancée, Charlotte, and her future parents-in-law
Gone were the days when the typical Filipino parents-in-law were viewed as inconsiderate, inhospitable, rejective, and unaffectionate; and the typical daughter-in-law antagonistic, disrespectful, and ungrateful.
The modern Filipino parents-in-law are those who regard their children's husbands and wives as their own children, while the modern Filipino sons- and daughters-in-law are those who respect their in-laws as their second parents.
