Dean's December article in progress
Si Marco Kenneth Herrera e vocalist ng Mere Mercy--sayang at di sila nakapaglabas ng album. May tinutugtog silang original sa live performances nila--"Which Side?"--pero as far as I know e the band was unable to record it nor release a demo of it. Am I right, Marco?
On DEAN'S DECEMBER
You're right--Binky Lampano was the vocalist. Formed in 1985, Dean's December was able to release independently one full-length album, 'Chemical Wedding,' in the following year, 1986, which contained the WXB staple "It Doesn't Snow in Manila." The band was also included in the compilation album '10 of Another Kind' (1989), with the songs "Healing" and "I Read the News." The group disbanded after the commercial failure of the compilation album. Lampano went on to record the solo album 'I Heard the News' in 1991; and then he met new musicians and they formed in 1992 the Blues-styled NIC (Newly Industrialized Combo) but they were unable to release any material as Lampano went to the United States.
When Lampano returned to the Philippines in 1996, he and his former NIC bandmates formed Lampano Alley. It took them six years to release a full-length album, 'Songs from the Alley' (2002).
There--another article in the making.
